PostSubject: SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK   Wed Mar 03, 2010 12:21 am

WHILE THIS ISNT NECESSARILY A "TRUE" PARANORMAL BOOK, IT WAS THE FIRST BOOK SERIES THAT HAD AN IMPRESSION ON ME AS A YOUNGSTER. COME SUNDOWN, THE NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS WOULD OFTEN GATHER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD BY STREET LIGHT AND READ FROM THE BOOKS, WHICH THEN SPAWNED US TELLING STORIES OF OUR OWN (WE LIVED IN WHAT COULD TECHNICALLY BE CALLED AN ALLEY, TWASNT EVEN WIDE ENOUGH FOR TWO CARS TO GO DOWN). THOUGH TO BE HONEST IT WASNT THE STORIES THAT SENT A SHIVER DOWN MY SPINE.. IT WAS THE CREEPY DRIPPY DRAWINGS IN THE BOOKS. THOUGH I HAVE AGED, I STILL HOLD A FONDNESS FOR THE BOOKS, AND EVEN OWN A COPY OF THE FIRST BOOK IN THE SERIES.

AFTER LOOKING AT SOME OF THE ILLUSTRATIONS... I WONDER IF MY PARENTS KNEW THEY WHERE IN THERE...
